This is our prefered style of frame and foundation.  The wooden frame is great for it's stiffness and strength and we find them less likely to be damaged during normal hive manipulation than plastic frames, and easier to fix if they are.   The plastic foundation holds up well in the extractor and is resistant to mouse damange and virtually wax moth proof.
