24oz of our Creamed raw wildflower honey in a plastic jar.
Creamed honey starts as our unheated, raw extracted honey and is allowed to crystallize under controlled conditions to ensure a creamy texture and great taste. In spite of it’s name it does not contain any butter or cream, it contains only 100% pure raw honey. It makes a great spread for toast, rolls and biscuits. Since it is already crystallized it can be stored indefinitely and never needs to be heated. It can be stored at any temperature from room temperature to freezing. High temperatures should be avoided because it may turn the honey into liquid.
All of our honey is wildflower honey collected from various sources from the woods and grasslands surrounding our apiaries located in Allen County, Ohio. Sources include wild raspberry, basswood, wild rose, several varieties of clover, catalpa, and more than a dozen other trees and wildflowers in our area. Depending on the weather and rainfall the blooms of each varies each year as does the color and subtle flavors of the honey. Typically we harvest our honey once per year in August.
Creamed honey is also sometimes called whipped honey, churned honey, candied honey or honey fondant.
