Annual Beekeepers Short Course, Maryville Tennesse

The Blount County Beekeepers Association would like to invite all interested persons to their annual beekeeping short course. The course is geared toward new beekeepers that want to know how to get started in the hobby of beekeeping. Speakers will discuss topics such as beekeeping equipment, protective clothing, where to set up an apiary and when and where to get bees. There is no fee charged to attend, and refreshments will be provided at the break. Door prizes will also be awarded. Please join us and bring a friend if you would like to learn more about beekeeping.
In addition, we will have an afternoon class on Tuesday, February 14th from 2-5 PM with guest speaker Robin Mountain. This session will be for more experienced beekeepers, and will include topics such as queen rearing, pests, and new medications available in 2006. This class will also be held at the Blount County Library.
